ATTACKS
AT TOG HILL
|
|
|
|
The public
picnic area and lay-by at these locations have long been a popular meeting
place for gay men, but have often attracted the attention of people
looking for easy victims to harass or intimidate them. In
a joint initiative with the Police's Hate Crime Unit, THT will be putting
up posters warning the area's users to be alert to the potential for harm.
THT has always been respectful of all users of cruising areas like this,
and continue to warn members of the gay community against indiscreet and
potentially offensive behaviour. However, if you have been a victim of an
attack or witnessed an attack here, you can make a report in confidence here.

SOUTH
GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNCIL LGB EMPLOYEES GROUP
|
|
|
|
This note is from Phil Beach: In
light of new legislation to protect the rights of workers from
discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation I have been asked by
South Gloucestershire Council to start a group more specifically for
Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual (LGB) Workers with the aim of:
Discussing the issues faced by LGB workers within South
Gloucestershire Council, both negative and positive.
Having a voice in shaping new policies and procedures within the
council through attending the Equalities and Diversity forum.
Having a positive voice in amending any current policies and
procedures that do not meet the needs of LGB workers.
Giving LGB workers a space to meet and share experiences.
The group is currently in an embryonic stage of development
and would benefit from the support / in put of LGB
colleagues in shaping its future.
If you are a Lesbian, Gay or Bisexual employee of South
Gloucestershire Council and would like to be involved in any way in this
group please contact me via email.
